On Thursday 10th January 2008, the Birgu Local Council, represented by the Mayor Mr. John Boxall and the Executive Secretary Ms. Christine Bonello, entered into a contract agreement with the St. Lawrence Band Club, represented by Mr. Lawrence V. Farrugia, President and Mr. Noel Gauci, Secretary for the use of part of the garage at tal-Hawli area to be used as a storage for the club's band stand.
The Local Council unanimously agreed to grant permission to the Band Club to use part of the tal-Hawli garage as a storage for 10 years, amended after every three years, after several requests were done by the St. Lawrence Band Club.
